Swordplay introduces children ages 7–11 to fencing in a fun environment where the focus is on ‘skills’ rather than ‘drills’.
Classes include warm-up and skills-based games, group skills classes, bouting and fencing games. As students progress, they learn basic fencing skills including standing en garde, simple footwork, being able to hit the opponent, and simple actions with a weapon. With a focus placed on developing coordination.
Costs include all classes plus VRI club membership, and all equipment is provided. Visit our Swordplay page for more information.
If your child is 12 or over, see Junior Épée Squad or contact us to enquire about the best pathways to fencing.
Time: Sat 10:00–11:00am
Please ensure you child arrives 15 minutes prior to the class starting so they can get all their gear ad they can start their warm up drills on time.
Coaches: Darcy MacCuspie
